California hear I come..

I can’t help but think of Bugs Bunny marching along singing the song.

After my frigid, early morning, plane ride, I finally touched down in the dry heat of Palm Springs and it felt GREAT.

Just look at those Palm Trees and mountains. I smoked a cigarette so I had an excuse to enjoy enjoy the wonderful view. Little did I know, I needed to be asap with the luggage, because when I went to pick it up, it was gone! Damn, “Here I go again…”

Retrieved the luggage, after asking several attendants, and the clerk said “Didn’t you hear me call your name?” I replied, “No”, thinking “Didn’t you ever think of putting speakers in the outer breezeway of the airport?” But, of course, I’m from Michigan, so what do I know?!

On to my next step, Uber! Oh snap, I didn’t download the app. Time for a beer!

Ahhh, nothing like a cold beer to wash away my frustrations. Ok, on to Uber, oh yeah, what’s my password? Yippie, if this is any indication to the rest of my weekend, I’m in trouble!!!

And, when I texted my daughter for the info, would she respond? NOPE! I finally managed to get the right one after, going through the usual barrage of passwords. Bingo!

The Uber driver was very pleasant and his car was clean. Dang it, what was his name? As we were approaching the location, he mentioned it is never a good sign when a road turns into dirt, found the house, dropped my bags in the dirt, and flew out of there like a bat out of hell.

Whew, I finally made it! My sister greeted me at the door, I said “Hello” to everyone, listened to my brother-in-law review his Father of the Bride speech, and my sister said, “Ok, let’s go!”. I could have used a freshen up, but we were on the road to the wedding destination.

We made it! Joshua Tree- Desert Lilly

I dropped my bags, and got a cold drink! Ahhh, so incredibly peaceful, serene.

Rehearsal time!

It’s a wrap! Time for the rehearsal dinner at That’s Amore for some delicious, authentic Italian food. Nummy!

BTW: Not me, the beautiful bride to be! Great time with family and friends.

Finally, the wedding. The weather and ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect for a day to get hitched!

And, a trip to the Joshua Tree Saloon…

and Joshua Tree National Park for a beautiful sunset to boot!

Open up those golden gates, cause California, here I go!
